My second topic of my catch up is the new hashtag game that got me up from the depths of writers block and out of depression alley, which is right by prostitution lane. I don’t know why. I didn’t design the city. For reasons I’ll continue to cover in future posts, I struggled with writing after January. I had been posting stories quite regularly on my Gumroad page last year and then I became Moby Dicked over the Blank Page Story Challenge. That is to say I was obsessed, not the porno option, and I certainly didn’t go hunting the owners down with a big harpoon. I wanted to win it, and win it bad
know, I know, I’ve been away for yonks and now when I finally come back I’m begging for your help with something. It’s rude and undignified but I’m a cute little girl so I can get away with it right? Right?? Why else would I be? Certainly not for all the sekuhara.
So today is the day. It had been announced for a while but Twitter finally got around to adding another 140 characters to its character limit, meaning that tweets can now be 280 characters long. Instinctively this just feels wrong. People who use the longer limit feel like they are on a soapbox
One of my favourite ideas from Buddhism is that of karma. We think of it as justice – everyone gets what they deserve – but real karma isn’t that instant. I believe it’s more about shaping your next life. However the idea that if you are loving, love will comeback to you seems to be working for me lately.
When I started my big social media push back in October, I made new accounts for a lot of sites. Twitter, Instagram, DeviantArt and Facebook were the first.
It’s been a neglectful couple of weeks. I’ve been getting used to my new job, which is in itself super busy, and that meant holding off on posting regularly here and on some of my social media. I made sure I’ve stayed up to date with the chapters of my novel and Twitter is easy to work in, but some others have suffered. Now I’m wondering how to use them now I get back into it.
Obviously, I am not entirely qualified to give advice on publishing since, as the title says, I haven’t published anything in the past. The future is another matter, but I don’t want to blow your tiny 3 dimensional minds with my advanced knowledge. So instead I’m going to make this a theoretical process post by discussing what I plan to do to publish my debut novel. You can tell me if you think it is a good idea and I will ignore you either way. Only joking, I’d love the attention and help. I’m dying over here.
