I’ve been waiting for the right time for a while, watching the stars and recording portents of the arrival, then on Sunday I came across an article on the dusty floor of a previously uncleared dungeon which had information on how to get the most out of posting on Wattpad, and I knew it was time to return to that devastatingly tough land.
Today is the day. Chapter one of my debut novel, Fools’ Blood is now available on Wattpad. Please have a look and tell me what you think! I’ll be posting a new chapter every week on what is Saturday for me, but probably Friday night for most of you. If you enjoy it, please come back and follow the continuing adventure of a vampire searching for his purpose. The full synopsis is at the end of this post.
As you know, or should know, my debut novel goes live on Wattpad this weekend. I hope you’ll all have a look at the finished product and see if you like it. I’ll also be opening a Patreon page to raise money for a deluxe paperback version filled with illustrations, character concepts and more, so I’d doubly appreciate you contributing or sharing that. Through the course of editing the novel, even the final sweeps, I found sections that I hated to cut out but decided the story was ultimately better without, whether for pacing, focus or character development. I still love those bits and so one way to get them to my audience is to post them here.
Obviously, I am not entirely qualified to give advice on publishing since, as the title says, I haven’t published anything in the past. The future is another matter, but I don’t want to blow your tiny 3 dimensional minds with my advanced knowledge. So instead I’m going to make this a theoretical process post by discussing what I plan to do to publish my debut novel. You can tell me if you think it is a good idea and I will ignore you either way. Only joking, I’d love the attention and help. I’m dying over here.
No one knows where ideas come from. I like to think there is an immense galactic cow who spews out idea milk all over the universe as she floats across the skies and you can’t prove me wrong.
I’m soon going to start publishing my novel on Wattpad as a final Beta phase. I will use feedback from that to help shape the final edit.
